A brief DESCRIPTION of each of the products is presented as follows:

Hessian :
It is a finer quality jute fabric and serves the following purposes:Hessain

  • Cloth is used for  general packing of goods or commodit-
    ies, such as cotton or wool.
  • Bags are used to store and pack varieties of goods and commodities such as sand, pulses, grain, potato, onion, sugar and tobacco. The bags are tailored for packing goods upto 60 kg of weight. These bags serve important purposes specially in geo based industries and other industries such as construction, cement making etc.

CBC (Carpet Backing Cloth) :Carpet backing Cloth

This product is mainly used as a backing material of carpets and is of great demand in the carpet industry. Carpet Backing Cloth calls for export oriented market and Hastings Jute Mill is quite well known in the export market for its produce.

Sacking :Sackings

Jute bags, the other name of sacking is mainly used to pack food grain, sugar and cement which are packed in weight range from 50 to 100 kg. Thus sacking is of great demand in the farm sector, agro based industries as well as
in cement industry. The different qualities
of this category are  A.Twill,  B.Twill,
Hy.Cees, D.W.Flour, Cement Bags etc.

Yarn / Twines / Cordage :Yarns Twines and Cordage

Such yarn is manufactured exclusively for export purpose and is utilised for making jute blended fabrics, diversified jute goods (cabel/wire), ropes and decorative wall coverings. Overseas garment and carpet making industries make maximum utilisation of this product.

D.W. Tarpaulin / D.W. Canvas :Tarpaulin Cloth

These are used mainly for coverings on a multi - dimen- sional, scale. Postal bags are made from D.W. Canvas and scrim lamination with paper polythene is used in mines.
